Believe it or not, I shoot more than wedding after wedding. Photojournalism was my first love and when I shoot something for the newspapers, the Lewiston Sun-Journal in this case, that might be of interest to my blog readers, I bring it here to you!
Sugarloaf hosted a hero's welcome for Seth Wescott yesterday at their big mother of a mountain. Seth, our hometown dream-come-true, is the only person to have won an Olympic gold metal for the snowboard cross and he's done it twice!
Love that guy! He is the sweetest hero you can imagine. He greeted the crowd for five minutes and then signed autographs for over two hours.
Sugarloafer for life!

Mt Washinton Hotel Wedding
I had the fantastic opportunity to second shoot a wedding last week with my friend Michelle Turner, another wedding photographer in Maine. We drove over the Franconia Notch during a crazy snowstorm to the Mt Washington Hotel.
As a second photographer, I have much more opportunity to "play" at a wedding, I can grab detail shots, weird angles, basically shoot in a way to amuse myself. I always recommend people having two professional photographers at their weddings. I always hire other working pros that have their own developed vision and then let them just cut loose and shoot whatever strikes their fancy.
There are the photographs I got from Saturday's shoot:
After the ceremony, I got to tag along for the couples shoots, and shoot different angles and shoot detail shots with the couple in the background out of focus.
Michelle is a master of posing. I picked up a lot of great ideas from her. This is a pose she completely guided the couple into, and I couldn't resist grabbing one for myself to study. I tend to tell my brides and grooms to go "hang out" in the beautiful scenery, but if I may start introducing a few formal poses on the wedding day. So beautiful!
And this one of Michelle working really cracks me up. You almost can't see her in the chaos, but rest assured, she's got a nice clean image of the couple against that window!
Here's comes the competition!!
What a fantastic New Hampshire wedding! Thanks for having me along!

PhotoBooth Madness!!
I have been very bad about blogging my Photobooth photographs from my weddings this past season. I'm going to start 2010 off right and blog Deanne's photobooth now, while her wedding is still fresh in everyone's minds. :)
I'm going to scoot back around and blog some of my other favorite moments from the photobooths in a blog post soon, but this should whet your appetite!
Point Lookout was the location for Deanne's wedding, in beautiful Northport Maine. It is a scrumptious venue choice, with a killer view and an amazingly professional staff!
This photobooth started out like most, a few people jumping in and saying hi, smiling for the camera, and as the night progressed it got sillier and sillier. I've never seen this booth sitting idle at a wedding.
If you are interested in a photoooth at your your wedding, give a shout!
